Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    My clafoutis was overly browned and kinda burnt. I wish I would have looked at other recipes first. This recipe is almost identical to the one in the Gourmet Cookbook and that recipes calls for a 400 degree oven, not 450. I used my cast iron skillet as I was not crazy about putting oil in my good cake pan and preheating it to 450. After the burning, I checked a recipe in a cast iron cookbook and it was also at 400 degrees. Maybe it is a translation issue.

    This came out lovely. Quick to make. No kirsch used rum instead
