Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    9/14/24 (note copied from incorrect edition of this book) I won't rate this since I made numerous changes, but the end result was delicious. I made 1/2 recipe, but with 1 lb lamb (to use the package), draining the fat after browning. Used crushed tomatoes instead of diced, and tomato paste thinned with water instead of puree. Added some dried mint, oregano, allspice, and cinnamon to the sauce. Roasted the eggplant in the oven instead of blanching and frying. Used half the butter in the topping and supplemented the creme fraiche (had some but not enough) with heavy cream and more milk; used a whole egg.
