    This was tastier than expected, although next time, I will use less sugar, as it seemed overly sweet. The topping, except for a small section, was surprisingly crunchy and nicely textured for having been cooked in a slow cooker. Did not have crème fraîche so I used light sour cream, a little buttermilk plus the maple syrup, which while being a little soupy, worked out quite well as the topping.
