    I make this every October ready for Christmas and have done for as long as I can remember. Since making it for the first time I never looked for another recipe because it's so good. I've swapped to just using Guinness for simplicity and it works perfectly. I also to leave it to sit overnight before cooking the next day so all the flavours get to mingle.

    This is now the only recipe I use for Christmas pudding. I'm sure it keeps well but it doesn't get the chance in my house!
