EYB Comments
Requires two days to smoke the chicken and 2.5+ hours to make the soup. Can substitute sea salt for kosher salt and raw rice plus black tea leaves for hickory chips. Alternatively, can substitute a smoked chicken for the whole chicken, kosher salt and hickory chips. Can substitute macaroni or other pasta for noodles and dried oregano for basil.
Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?
Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.
