    This vanilla cupcake recipe is my 'go-to', master recipe for cupcakes. It works every time without fail, and makes a lovely light, moist, basic cupcake, which can take any icing or decoration you throw at it. I have made these cupcakes literally dozens of times, in 3 or 4 different ovens, without a single fail. The little ones in my family love these cupcakes, and I regularly whip up a batch, and sit them down at a table spread with different colour icings and decorations, and let them go to work - it keeps them occupied for hours!
