    These are very sweet but also very good. The ginger flavor was a little too subtle for me - I'd up the ginger next time. I made these for an Oscars party so I sprinkled the top with gold leaf - they looked very pretty.

    These are unbelievably delicious cookies. Lyle's Golden Syrup is the cane sugar syrup that I used. My Whole Foods stocks it here in the N. VA area. Hope you can find it and try this recipe. I followed some recommendations on Epicurious. I used an 8x8 pan rather than 9/13 pan. Also all seemed to agree that it is important to cut the cookies about 15 minutes after removing from the oven.
