    This recipe is a real crowd-pleaser. I am asked to bring it to Christmas dinner every year. Note that the recipe makes quite a large torta, more than we would ever need for one party. I always make two smaller tortas out of this recipe. Each smaller torta is enough for our family parties of 15-20 adults, provided there are a few other appetizers. The individual components are very easy to make. For me, the assembly is the most time consuming--nine skinny layers wakes up my inner perfectionist. I would NEVER attempt this recipe if I did not have a food processor! PS you can buy something like this in any good market during the holidays, but this recipe is really much, much better.
