Roasted sweet potatoes & fresh figs from Jerusalem (page 26) by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Love this. I rarely have access to figs, but when I do, this is at the top of my list!

Nice way to dress sweet potatoes. We all loved it.

Yummy! Next time I would chop the chili smaller so there is some in every bite. Great flavors.

A-MAZ-ING!! Ottolenghi takes advantage of the beautiful taste and texture of figs to pair them with sweet potatoes, chillies and spring onions. This is so good. I mean SO GOOD. You do need to have figs that are sweet, moist and very ripe. You can smell the sweetness.

Made this as written and it was great. I did substitute dried figs for fresh but I could see it being even better with fresh. Will make it again next time I can find some.

This was a tasty side dish for burgers last night and cold leftovers for lunch today were excellent! I might double the balsamic reduction if I made it again because mine got pretty sticky and a lot got left in the pot.

I was a little less excited by this dish than the other reviewers. I found it too sweet & thought that a savoury note would have balanced the dish (maybe walnuts?). The optional goats cheese would be more of an essential element to also provide some contrast.

I forgot to add the figs and cheese, but this was the biggest hit from last night's party. It was the first time my husband raved over an Ottolenghi recipe.

Delicious! I left out the red chili and the green onions because I forgot to buy them as well as the goat's milk cheese. I used feta instead. It was probably less tasty than Ottolenghi and Tamimi intended, but it was still delicious. The balsamic reduction was divine. (rms-k)

Following the recipe would have taken too many dishes, so I did it as a one-pot: roasted the sweet potatoes in smaller pieces, then added the spring onions, chilli, balsamic vinegar and figs and returned it to the oven for 10 minutes to glaze. It didn't look as pretty as the picture, but the flavours were extremely good.
