Pan-fried sea bream with harissa & rose from Jerusalem (page 219) by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I loved the sauce even if it was a bit too acidic so I tried to thin it with some water and added more honey. I've used a store-bought harissa that's very spicy so I halved the amount. I had cod fillets that was rather thick so I seared them on 4 sides. Served it with basmati rice. Delicious.

nice and not too spicy. can be made with any neutral fish or even chicken (?)

Nice easy recipe to make, served with rice. Used the wrong fish because my SO can't read my typed grocery list. Also found out I am really sensitive to rose water, so will be adding less of that next time. Due to being overly sensitive I had no idea how the rest of the dish tastes as all I could smell/taste was rose water.

Loved the spicy, sweet n sour sauce! I was surprised that the balance of harissa, cinnamon, honey and rose water was spot on. Very easy to achieve on a weeknight.

We loved this dish. The sweet & sour sauce with a bit of heat from the harissa was a wonderful complement to the snapper I used without overwhelming it and the rose flavour from both water and petals was quite subtle. Since the fillets are fried first and then gently warmed in the completed sauce before serving, this would make an excellent dinner party dish with most of the work done in advance.

This is a lovely fish dish despite my initial reservations. Next time I will make the Harissa from the book as my purchased Harissa was extremely spicy. I had to add water to sauce so there was enough to spoon over fish. Will definitely repeat as very easy.
