As Fall/Winter cooking is in process, I'm looking for alcohol free substitutions for the following:
Substitute for beer in chilis and stews
Substitute for dry cider in braised dishes
Has anyone used root beer in place of beer and apple cider in place of dry cider? How do those work? I know apple cider is sweeter than dry cider, but I don't know what dry cider tastes like anyways. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for any help. I can't cook with alcohol and am always confused on what to use in its place. In the end I often find myself skipping otherwise delicious looking recipes with these items in them.
