I posting here rather than emailing as a problem because I suspect many people would expect the current coding.
Why is this Indian cookbook given "Syrian" given Syrian as a category? Yes, I know it is in the title but are you aware that "Syrian Christian" is equivalent to "Roman Catholic" .... it makes them no more Syrian that it makes Western rite Catholics Italian. Also known as the St. Thomas Christians, they trace back to the 1st century AD. The early church basically divided into three sections based on the language they used in worship and the bishop/patriarch they reported to: Western/Latin, Byzantine/Greek, and Syrian/Syriac. The Christians of Kerala are Syrian in terms of the language they traditionally use in liturgy ... not in ethnicity or culinary tradition. Therefore, I would not expect to see Syrian as a category.
Yes, I'm aware of this because of an advanced degree in South Asian studies but you can check Wikipedia Saint Thomas Christians for verification.
Note: the same would apply to Kerala Syrian Christian Favourites by Therssi John Kottukapally/Salim Pushpanath when categories are added.
