Probably not the place to do it but....
I know it’s not very fashionable to question Vegan(?) meat substitutes but these fake meats really do concern me.
Your FDA says on the subject of ‘soy leghemoglobin’ or SLH a key component of these fake ‘meats’ is....
‘The current arguments at hand were not enough to establish the safety of SLH for consumption.’
Yet Impossible Foods makers of the impossible burger say on the subject is SLH....
“We genetically engineer yeast to make “soy leghemoglobin” one of the key ingredients in the Impossible Burger” they then go on to say.... “The FDA reviewed our data and gave us a “no-questions letter” validating the safety of our soy leghemoglobin. This required rigorous testing, including a stringent rat feeding study”
Impossible Foods claim appears at odds with the FDA’s position not to mention that this supposedly vegan/vegetarian product is tested on animals..... go figure!
