The search function has stopped working for me. .   Go to last post Go to last unread

Any suggestions? I removed EYB from the home screen on my tablet, then added it back. Tried searching a different recipe name but still did not search. Every thing else on the tablet is functioning well.

Usually when just one member is having a problem, and especially when the site works correctly on a different device, it is due to some browser glitch. The best way to clear it is to delete your browser cache/history then do a hard refresh on the page you are having the problem with. You can also start with a couple of other fixes first if you wish - do the hard refresh or close your browser down and restart it.

My husband has extensive experience in computers and systems , but he can't fix this problem. He did as you suggested and it still refuses to search.


Any other suggestions.

I experienced a similar issue a couple of days ago too.. I did the hard refresh and its fine for me now ;-) I thought maybe EYB was doing something in the background, as I find quite regularly that EYB is unresponsive (I think possibly whilst uploads might be happening overnight US time)

I'm not sure what to recommend since no other member has reported an issue and I cannot replicate it. Can you try using a different browser on your tablet? E.g. if you use Safari switch to Chrome. If EYB works as it should then we know it is a browser issue. Does your browser have any extensions? Could any of those be causing a problem? If clearing the browser cache, closing the browser and relaunching, closing the device and reopening it does not clear the issue then try uninstalling the browser and reinstalling it. Apologies if this seems a lot to do but it's hard for me to diagnose the issue remotely.

I Uninstalled Chrome and I installed a different browser. That fixed it!

Another member reported the same issue with her Android tablet. After trying lots of different fixes, she worked this out:
Where the large RETURN or ENTER key would be on a desktop computer keyboard, Chrome and DuckDuckGo both say NEXT (whereas the Samsung internet browser, which still works, says GO.) I have always used these large NEXT "keys" to do the search, and they've always worked until a few days ago.


So it seems there is some change on the tablet keyboard. I will ask our developers if there is anything we can do to help resolve this issue.

I am having the same problem with Google Chrome on my Samsung tablet. I tried all sorts of fixes too, so it's interesting to know what the issue is. It's annoying as I use my tablet a lot to search for recipes, and have to remember to use a different browser or my laptop or phone.  It would be good if it could be sorted as I don't want to ditch Chrome.

Our developers have fixed the issue (I believe). They have added a search icon (a looking glass) to the Android keyboard on EYB so click that when searching. Could anyone who had an issue with their Android device please test that out on search and see if it now works for them. Please report back!
