When I go to 'My Bookshelf' > 'Recipes' and sort by 'Recently added' (leaving search field blank), any individual online recipes I've added today do not show up at the top of the list. I've tried 'Only Show > Online Recipes', but they are still not there.

These are individual recipes I've added to my Bookshelf (without adding the whole book) which have links to an online version.

I'm assuming 'Recently Added' means added by me, not added by EYB staff?

I think its because the online recipe from an indexed book is listed in the sequence it gets added to EYB's library.. but I could be wrong (as in, it's "recently added by EYB", not added by us!)

digifish_books - the issue is that the recipes you added have not yet been approved.  All member added recipes have to be proofread before they are approved (we have some members adding recipes with just one ingredient or the title in Chinese characters, etc).  It should be done today and you will then see the recipes at the top of your sort.

As far as I know, individual recipes adding by clipping and member indexing, aren't marked in any way as your recipes if they are public.  I'm grateful that someone noted this in a forum post soon after I began to use the Add-to-EYB Recipes Bookmarklet. as I was able to put in place a workaround:  I apply a 'My Online Recipes' bookmark to them while indexing them.  That way I can always review them as a group.

I'm wondering if this is widely understood; given the huge number of recipes that members have made available this way, I think it's worth noting this in the Help section that covers adding individual recipes.

I am experiencing a major bug- my membership does not exist anymor. My Bookshelf has 5 books instead of everything I have loaded. I renewed only a few months ago. Help

Oaktoncook - you seem to have set up two different EYB memberships using different email addresses and usernames.  One is Free, which is the one you signed into as Oaktoncook, and the other is a Premium membership which is where your Bookshelf is located.  I have emailed you to explain what you have done.

Hi Jane,

I'm referring to recipes that already exist on EYB (i.e. the book has been indexed) and a few recipes in the book have online links and so the +Bookshelf symbol appears next to the recipe title. When I add each of these to my Bookshelf they don't appear at the top of my 'Recipes' list.

For example, go to the book 'Commander's Kitchen' by Jamie Shannon and Ti Adelaide Martin (http://www.eatyourbooks.com/library/10014/commanders-kitchen-take-home-the).

Then Sort by Book Order and on page 1 scroll down to

New Orleans style barbeque shrimp

Click 'Add to Bookshelf'

Then go to 'My Bookshelf' > 'Recipes' and sort by 'Recently Added' and the recipe above doesn't appear.

So these are not recipes waiting to be approved, added by me via a bookmarklet, etc.

As far as I can tell there is no way I can now find these individual recipes recently added unless I add the whole book that they appear in, or make a note of the author or recipe title somewhere.

digifish_books, when you look at My Bookshelf > Recipes sorted by "Recently Added" (the system default), it refers to the date when the online recipe was added to EYB, not to the date when you added the recipe to your Bookshelf.

Thanks Deborah. In that case, I reckon we need an 'Added by me' or 'Added to my bookshelf' sort function. The order in which data is added by EYB isn't all that useful to individual members, IMHO :)

Also, the sort functions across all the tabs, Books, Magazines, Blogs and Recipes need to be consistent.

Thanks, Jane. That was my alterego from the defunct 101 cookbooks site.
