Searching for a recipe title   Go to last post Go to last unread

I searched for "Better Than A-1 Steak Marinade" in my bookshelf under recipes.  Came back with zero results.  I knew it was in Cook's Illustrated May 2007 Issue with that exact title, so I went to it under the magazine recipes (May 2007) and found it that way to leave a note.  In it, it was titled "Better Than A-1 Marinade" .  Does title search needs to be exact to pull up?

Hi Rinshin! If you're searching for a recipe title as a complete phrase and entering it in quotation marks -- "Better Than A-1 Marinade" -- then the system will search for and retrieve the exact phrase you entered, including "A-1" with the hyphen. But if you leave out the quotes and just enter that same string of words, you'll retrieve recipes entitled "Better than A-1 marinade" and "Better than A.1 steak marinade" (this is in the EYB Library/Recipes; results in a search of your Bookshelf will depend on the books/blogs/recipes you've added).

By the way, if that recipe appears in your copy of the May/Jun 2007 issue of Cook's Illustrated with the word "steak" in the title and not the way we've indexed it, let me know and I'll make the correction.

Thank you for this clarification Deborah.  That reallys helps.  The title in Cook's Illustrated includes the word steak.
