I have two items of cookware that I love, and when I wrongly thought they needed replacing I bought the same pot or close to it.

One is my 1qt. Anolon anodized aluminum lidless saucepan; I use it to make oatmeal and heat up things (I'm between microwave ovens).

The other pan I love is my 3qt. stainless steel saucepan from Macy's. I use it for making applesauce and small quantities of soup.

These are pots that I not only would buy again, I did buy them again. Although the second Macy's soup pot has a better shape than the first.

Scanpan. Not cheap, but good quality investment. I particularly like their ProIQ range.

I've used All Clad for almost 40 years.  Have been completely happy with every piece of All Clad I own.  However, recently a company named Made In came along and I was quite enticed by their marketing. I bought several items from them, mostly non-stick and carbon steel.  Did not duplicate any of my trusted All Clad pieces.  Now, although I'm reasonably happy with the Made In Pans, I have noticed that the shiny bottoms of the pans quickly became scorched looking.  This never happened with any of my All Clad pieces.  Bottom line, If I didn't have All Clad would I continue to buy Made In if I needed a new piece?  Sure.  But as long as All Clad is around I think I'll stick with them.

A couple more things.  Made In is almost half the price of All Clad.  Also, in my 40+ years using All Clad I've never experienced the problem you described.  And I do put my pieces in the dishwasher.  I would definitely try their warranty department.  I think there is supposed to be a lifetime warranty, but I could be wrong. It is only one pan, not a cookware line but I LOVE my Always pan from Our Place. It is truly non stick and too easy to clean to bother with placing in the dishwasher. There are weeks where it is the only pan I use. My one gripe is the handle discolored when I placed it in the oven at 400 degrees. So I will keep my cast iron for dutch babies and other stove top to oven dishes.

I'd suggest that any good, quality brand ends up becoming 'invisible' as its used week in week out, year in year out. I don't think about pots and pans because our set of Mauvel copper & stainless steel will easily out last me and properly looked after (hopefully!) the grandchildren as well. 

To slightly twist the OP's question the only brand I wouldn't buy again would be Le Creuset. Despite having a fairly large collection of cast iron the prices have as I've mentioned in the past become utterly ludicrous. It genuinely feels like your paying 25% for the product and 75% for the name.
