First, let me congratulate you on the significant expansion of the EYB Library.  I'm delighted to have been able to add more of my cookbooks and the "import" function has been useful to add some of my books that weren't yet listed.  

I do have a couple of questions regarding the EYB Library now I've been using it more.  Here's what I'd like to be able to do:

• Search the EYB library so that only books that have been indexed appear.  I'm always adding to my cookbook collection and it would be great to take a look at the indexed books that I don't already own. The "Latest 100" list is ok but not convenient since I still have to paste a book info into a search if I want more info about it.


• Search the EYB library for all books with high member ratings.  


• Search the EYB library the books that appear on the most bookshelves


• Search for most popular books in a category - eg. Fiona recently wrote about local and farmer's market cookbooks in her "Loco for Local" article.  I'd like to be able to search for the Farmers Markets/Local cookbooks that are on the most bookshelves to inform my purchasing.


• I also echo earlier requests for our own books to appear when we search the EYB library.  Right now when I search I'm never sure if the book isn't showing up because it hasn't been imported or, because I've already added it to my own library. 

The last one is already possible - click 'EYB library & My bookshelf' in the last drop-down when you search.

I second all the others - there are plans to improve the search function, so EYB might be working on them already.

As wester says, we are working hard on getting a completely new search, for books and recipes, completed by mid-July.  On your specific questions:

• In EYB Library and My Bookshelf searches you will be able to just select indexed books.  And you will then be able to add them to your Bookshelf from those results.


• You won't initially be able to sort by ratings and popularity but we plan to add those features.  You will be able to see the ratings and popularity on the search results though by selecting More details.  There will also be a Less details option that will give you a basic listing - title and author only.


• So to see the most popular books in a category you would search by that category, then sort by popularity (when we add that feature).


• As wester says, you can currently search in all books by selecting EYB & My Bookshelf in the In: box.  But with the new search, all EYB Library searches will be all books, whether you own them or not.

I wish we had the new search up now as it is going to be so much better, but it's a huge job and we obviously want it to be right before we put it up live.
