Out of sheer curiosity, I went to the Library and searched a cookbook that I had given to my sister and BIL during their first decade of marriage. I saw a five-star rating, and apparently thinking I was on Amazon, I clicked the 5 stars to see a review. That didn't happen - the page now says that the book has 2 5-star ratings instead of one.

I didn't mean to give it a rating! I don't know enough about it to give it a rating. I never looked inside it since I gave it to my sister.

I've never given ratings on my own cookbooks - my rule is never give a rating or review to a cookbook until you've cooked at least six recipes from it - more or fewer according to length.

How do I withdraw that accidental and meaningless rating?

I'm afraid you cannot currently remove a rating. I wouldn't worry about that one - it had a 5 star rating before and it still has a 5 star rating.

I have inadvertently clicked on the first star of a recipe that has only been rated by one person (who gave it a 1/2 star review, presumably also accidentally). I think there really should be a way of either asking to confirm that you really mean to rate the book or recipe in question, or to undo it if you realise you made a mistake.
