Not sure if it is my device, or the site, but I am struggling to use the new drop down menus. When I tap "bookshelf", 8 out of 10 times, it just reloads my bookshelf. Occasionally the drop down menu appears and I am able to select the option I want, which is usually the shopping list.

Does anyone know a way around this? Is there another way to get to the shopping list? I miss the links on the left!

I'm probably no help at all, having not used anything smaller than a notebook computer.  But the notebook on which I'm working right now uses a touchpad, so it might not be so different.  If you slide the cursor (or your finger) over the 'my Bookshelf' area, the dropdown menu appears.  If you tap the pad, the books in your bookshelf display.

Might it help to put your finger lightly on the Eat Your Books area in the upper left and _slide_ it over to the 'my Bookshelf' area? I can see how it's hard to keep the machine from interpreting a touch as a tap if you come at it directly.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I have tried several different techniques with no luck, but I have noticed something else now.  If, after touching "bookshelf" I quickly touch just below it, I click a link!  So, the drop down menu IS dropping down, it is just completely invisible.  I did this blind clicking maybe 35 times and finally got into my shopping list-ha!

So, I don't know if this is an issue with compatibility, or just my browser (if it is, I am lost--I am hopeless at this stuff) but I would be curious to know if anyone else is having a similar problem.

I wonder if EYB plans to include a link to the shopping list anywhere else on the site? Or if there is one I don't know about?  Most of the other options on the Bookshelf drop down can actually be accessed in other places (magazines, blogs, etc are all available on that horizontal tool bar) but this drop down seems to be the only way to get to the shopping list!

Yildiz100 - it shouldn't be that hard to see the dropdowns - there must be some issue with the browser you use that is causing this.  Could you let us know here or at [email protected] - what browser (and version) you are using? Everything you need to access on the site is available on the dropdowns or across the top.  But obviously you should be able to see them!  We will get this fixed for you.

I am having the same issues. I have an Android tablet and the drop down menus don't work. I have tried using both Chrome for Android and Firefox for Android. This menu style where the list drops down and requires that you choose an item is a common issue for me. But most sites allow you to tap the menu button at the top and take you to a page of some kind with the submenus available via hyperlink.

I am on the most recent version of Firefox and Chrome for Android tablet.

Yes, dowdpe hit the nail on the head. I was browsing, wondering why I have never had this problem before, and it is because on most sites that use hover drop downs, if you are on a touch screen and must click, you get taken to a new page where you can select any of the items that are found in the drop down. (Epicurious is one, for example)
I have now installed Opera, Dolphin, Firefox, and Android (the default) browsers on my tablet (a Samsung Galaxy 8.9) and I can access the shopping list on Firefox only, and even then it sometimes takes a couple of tries.

Hi,
It looks like a change was made to accommodate tablet users but I don't think it's the result you want. Now I see that the drop downs from my home, my bookshelf, and library stay down and are selectable. However, they drop down whenever a page is loaded and after a few seconds they disappear. This happens in both Chrome and Firefox on Android as well as Chrome on my Windows 7 PC.

I would pull this change back asap since it is a problem on a Windows browser.
