I have been indexing a number of Japanese cookbooks lately and was wondering if there is a way to request shortcuts to be added. I use the soy sauce shortcut (ss) and glad it is available. Adding shortcuts for sake, mirin and dashi would be very helpful. Thank you.

ahhh, that's good to know there are shortcuts to use. I like ss for soy sauce.

The full list of currently available shortcut codes is in the indexing manual.. the hyperlink will take you there.. a ceratin time saver, but remember to check it gives you what you actually want!

Thanks for the reply, Deb. There aren't shortcuts for dashi, mirin and sake. I was wondering if there was a way to have them created.

You could try sending a request, but you may find that the answer is (for example) that as "dashi" comes up as the first listed ingredient after typing just das it's not worth it! (Similarly for the other 2 you nominated!). They tend to reserve shortcuts forlonger or  2 word items! ;-) Happy indexing or HI
