Did a couple of searches on my bookshelf recipes using 2 filters and it's very slow and has/seems to have crashed my browser Android chrome.

Is it just me?

I'm not sure if it's just you or not but no other members have reported an issue. There can be short-term issues if the site gets hit by an unusually large amount of traffic. But I can't see that on our analytics. There could have been a slowdown on your own internet speed. But hopefully it was just a glitch and everything is ok now.

Just had another go and it's the same.... search is very slow and it locks up ie you try and type Barley but it stops after "Barl" and the all the buttons/keyboard become unresponsive. Flicking to another chrome tab and everything is OK. Am wondering if it's the new accessibility features. Is there anyway to locally turn it off?

The instructions on how to hide the accessibility feature is in the blog post announcing the feature. But it doesn't sound like it is that causing the problems since as you say another browser session was ok and also no-one else has reported this issue.

Tried hiding the accessibility feature icon following the instructions on the blog page but it repeared when I went to a different page.

Hi ThePatheticBaker, is it worth trying another browser to see if it is repeated? Firefox, for example.

Already using Firefox. Do not use Chrome on principle. Only use Safari to bootstrap Firefox on to any new Mac that I buy.

After you click "hide", you need to scroll down and tell it to hide indefinitely.

Sorry ThePatheticBaker, I meant to tag the OP Indio32. (I'm also a FF on Mac user :) )

Now that I have over 700 cookbooks I find it helpful to sort them. So when I entered "Greek", 3 books came up. And I thought, wait a second, why doesn't "The Periyali Cookbook" come up? It's listed in the Greek category but doesn't register.

Also, when I look up particular books in the library, sometimes it appears as if I don't own books which I actually do, but because they're in a different format than the ones shown, they aren't registering as being in my possession.

KatieK1 - it sounds like you are entering Greek in the word search and expecting to see all books tagged as Greek. In fact the books word search looks for words in book title and author name. Your The Periyali Cookbook does not have Greek in the title which is why it doesn't appear in the results. Instead you should use the filters in the right column (or under the Filter manu on a phone). To find all books tagged as Greek, under Filter By click Ethnicity / Europe / Greek. If you want to learn more about Filters, take a look at Tutorial #3, accessed from the green Need Help? button at bottom right (not available on phones). Or this Help section.

On your second point, we only display one edition of indexed books in the Library, but all linked editions can be viewed by clicking the links icon or viewing the More Details tab on the book details page. If you want to see all editions by an author, view the author page, accessed by clicking the author name. You see every edition listed alphabetically and the editions you own are clear.
