Joy of Cooking "Mystery Cake" tomato soup cake   Go to last post Go to last unread

Tried making this for a laugh today - how far is it supposed to rise? Remained fairly flat - about one inch thick in a 9" square tin.


If this is normal, wil try a Biscoff/cream cheese frosting on it tomorrow.

Very spicy - somehow the tomato soup sharpens up the spice. Topped it off with the quick cream cheese/Biscoff frosting which went well with the flavour of the cake. Wife pronounce it "odd#2 but asked for a second piece
