Hi, eyepaint (fellow Seattlite)!  I believe the fastest way is to go to your own profile:

and then use the Print function in your browser to print the result.

Hi eyepaint and mcvl

There is another way to do it.  If you click on the Books tab next to the quick search box you will see a list of all your books.  We are going to make this more obvious as a few members miss it.

Just below the quick search box there is an icon with a + & -.   You can slide it to the left to toggle between less information on the book and no cover, or to the right to get all info.   Once you decide how much info you want to print you can click on the "Print Results" button above.

This is explained in the How do I print a list of books?

This works for printing lists of recipes as well.   We have discovered a problem printing in Firefox so would advise to use Explorer if possible.

Fiona, that's certainly a good way, but in some cases not a fast way.  If a bookshelf holds 100 books, the user needs to hit "Show next 25 books" three times.  If the bookshelf holds 500 books ...

mcvl - I've found a way around the pagination issue.  I figured out how many times I need to click the "Next 25 books" link and entered that in the web address field.  Here's the process I use:

1. Go to my bookshelf and view my books

2. Select the sort option I wish to view

3. Click the "Next 25 Books" link

4. In the address field, go the very end and change the number 2 that is typed there to the appropriate number to reach the end of your list.

This is the web address that shows when you click the "Next 25 books" link:

http://www.eatyourbooks....bookshelf/books#pindex=2

I then change that 2 to 29 and I get my full bookshelf.

It can take awhile to load, but it works every time :) Oh and to figure out what the correct number for your bookshelf is, take the number of books on your shelf and divide by 25, then round the answer up. :)

Hope someone finds my little trick helpful!

Bonnie you're brilliant!!  Thank-you, what a great idea!!

Also, I'm very impressed at the number of cookbooks you've amassed in just 10 years.  I'll be sure to let my husband know . . .

Glad you all find this useful! :)  I've also bookmarked that page for myself so that I can bring it up easily and without having to go through all those steps.

Sue - my secret is going to library booksales on weekends before my fiance is awake/alert enough to reason with me lol

This is a great tip!

Although I only have 4 pages of books (almost 5) I still find it a real nuisance to keep waiting for subsequent pages to load. (I love EYB so much that I am forever viewing my lists, then sorting them differently and viewing them again). I urge everyone to try this - if you take the trouble to follow Bonnie's instructions once, you will see how easy it is and you probably won't need to follow them step-by-step again.

This method is also really useful for searching recipes - e.g. if you search your books for recipes containing an ingredient such as beef, you will probably get hundreds or thousands of results. You can choose the number of pages to view in the same manner, without the need to load each page separately.

I have been trying to print a list of all my books to give to someone to organize my library but despite looking hard in the instructions I could not find out how to to it.

I did come across an 3 year old post from AngelNewsi with a work around.  Is there really still no proper way to do it?

I tried to do the work-adound but it did not work for me.  I did not get the same web address as her when I tried.

Can anyone help?  This seems a pretty basic & common need.

BertieB -- The way your Bookshelf loads has changed since that post 3 years ago. In order to print a list of your cookbooks on your EYB Bookshelf, I would recommend selecting the condensed view which will load 200 books at a time and takes up much less space. It is the first symbol next to "View As:"

You can also select how you would like the list sorted using "Sort by..." (alphabetically, by author, date published, etc.) Then you can use your browser's print function to print.
