Insta-Pot Cookbook Recommendations   Go to last post Go to last unread

I already have a pressure cooker and slow cooker, as well as several cookbooks for these appliances. I've recently purchased a 7 in 1 InstaPot, and am looking for recommendations for cookbooks that have a good variety of recipes using all the functions, especially the yogurt maker and rice cooker, but also including both slow cooker and pressure cooker recipes. There are times I want to leave something cooking for the day to be ready at night and times I want a quick meal after work, so I'm not looking for something that just takes slow cooker recipes and converts them to a pressure cooker. What Insta-Pot or Instant Pot cookbooks do you like that is well-rounded? Bonus if there's not too many dishes using alcohol in the recipes.

Sounds like you're looking for something like Daniel Shumski's How to Instant Pot: Mastering All the Functions of the One Pot that will Change the Way You Cook (Workman, 2017). I have quite a few IP cookbooks at this point, and Shumski's is the only one that really details ALL the functions of the machine, and has a good variety of recipes for each function. Its the only place I've seen that details what the presets really do (e.g. the saute function has the following settings: less: 221F, normal: 320F, more 338F). The recipes I've made from the book have been fine, but not as interesting as some other IP cookbooks. But its as a manual that the book really shines.

Another book to consider is Bruce Weinstein & Mark Scarborough's The Instant Pot Bible (Little, Brown & Co., 2018). It doesn't cover every function, but provides more recipes.

Finally, America's Test Kitchen has a decent general IP cookbook: Multicooker Perfection: Cook It Fast or Cook It Slow-You Decide (America's Test Kitchen, 2018).

Another couple to take a look at: New York Times food writer Melissa Clark's Dinner in an Instant (Clarkson Potter, 2017) and Comfort in an Instant (Clarkson Potter, 2018) -- the recipes are more to my taste than the other books, and I've not had a single recipe not turn out (though the recipes may be too elaborate for many Instant Pot users).

Thanks AlkansCockatoo for this info.  The first book sounds informative.  I went ahead and just purchased.
