Would appreciate any thoughts on the best general purpose electric hand whisk in the KitchenAid range. I ask as it appears KA think that they need to offer 4 versions. 5, 7 and 9 speed and then a cordless version.

Not fussed about cordless but is there genuinely a need for the number of speeds? Am thinking that 7 is the way to go but that's just based on not getting the cheapest and is a 9 speed really worth £30 more than the 7?

Thanks

Goodness, the electric hand whisks I have ever owned have only had 3 speeds, I cannot imagine why you would need 9!

I love my electric whisk and use it often; I usually prefer it to the stand mixer. Mine has 5 speeds and I can’t imagine needing more than that.

Here in OZ out CHoice consumer testers didn't end up with Kitchenaid hand mixer in their "recommended" list... it was beaten by a Breville model, then Sunbeam. the Kitchenaid was described as having "lots of cracks & crevices" making cleaning problematic. I'm sure there's a similar consumer group in the UK..but if not here's a listing of "best buys" from 2021 in the UK ;-)
