I recently purchased an ebook, "The Soup Book: 200 Recipes, Season by Season" by Sophie Grigson.  When I imported its eISBN, a book with a similiar title was added to my library but its author was listed simply as "DK".  No mention of Sophie Grigson.  I searched for other books with "DK" as their author and found 37.  A few of them also had other people listed along with DK.

The question is, who is DK and why isn't Sophie Grigson listed as the book's author? 

I strongly suspect that the ebook that I purchased is a 2019 US edition of another book by Sophie Grigson that is listed here on EYB.  It was published in 2009 in the UK by Dorling Kindersley Publishers Ltd: www.eatyourbooks.com/lib...onal#detail-tabs-details

I found the following publishing information at the end of the ebook:

Perhaps DK refers to the publishing imprint instead of the author?

Thank you for taking the time to reply.  However,

- Sophie Grigson is the individual named on the title page and on the Amazon page (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XCYTPGS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o01).  In the book she is identified as the editor-in-chief and on Amazon as the author.  Whatever her exact title, one would expect the EYB index to associate the book with the individual named as being most responsible for its contents, not some mysterious "DK".

- The individual who compiles the work of others into a single useful work deserves full credit for conceiving and guiding the work.  There's a big difference between an editor, who advises the person who is creating the book on matters of style, clarity, and yes, even grammar and spelling, and someone in Sophie Grigson's role, who is responsible for what the book is about and its coverage of that topic. In my own experience, I am thinking of an example in which I contributed a chapter to a book examining many facets of what was then an emerging technology.  The person orchestrating the effort, who also was knowledgable in the field, asked me to write a chapter about one aspect and asked other experts to cover additional areas.  By bringing together all of our work the person credited for the book created a very useful resource that addressed the most important things someone new to the field would find valuable to know.  (And yes, each of the chapter authors was duly credited, of course.)  Nobody would give a second thought to having his name alone on the cover.  To me the situation with Sophie Grigson and this cookbook is completely analagous.

There are historic anomalies on book listings and we appreciate when members let us know about fixes we can make. I have changed the author to Sophie Grigson. If you can confirm that the recipes are the same as in the indexed UK edition then we will link it. There is also a print edition that should probably be linked.
