Hello!  I am pretty new to the forum and I can't seem to figure out how to (or if it is even possible) get my forum posts to spell check as I am typing them...is this feature available?  If so, could someone help me figure out where to go to turn it on?  If it is not available, that's okay, I will just type my posts up first in Google Docs!  :)

I have Grammarly turned on for my system - and it highlights misspelled words here as well. And no one will judge you if you have a typo :)

I've not found a way to use the in-built browser's spell-check facility for these posts... might have to install Grammarly! (Thanks Jenny!)

As a person with dyslexia spell-checkers whether immediate or user-initiated are not much use. The best thing for me is not to look at my hands while writing — impractical which i why these days I rarely use pen/pencil and paper — or typing — even my shopping lists are typed. Cutting the feedback loop of watching my hands move but instead relying upon muscle memory to locate the correct characters much the same way that one might play the piano, guitar or other musical instriment (or even use the TV remote with all its legends rubbed off the buttons).

Spell checkers might tell me a word is wrong but offering alternatives is no use because I might then choose a correctly spelled word that is contextually wrong. Looking at the screen as I touch type is by far the best solution for me as I make fewer mistakes but, of course, this coping strategy does not prevent all such mistakes. As a consequene I make many more errors when using my mobile phone as the proximity of on-screen keyboard to text area does not allow for that feedback loop to be broken. (One of the reasons that I use an Apple Magic Keyboard on my iPad giving me the opportunity to resume touch typing.)

The one thing that spell-checkers/correctors or similar grammar tools can never deal with is my propensity to omit little words when I do look down at the keyboard. Those words don't change the meaning too much after all what is a missing NOT between friends.

If spell-checkers and -correcters or grammar tools work for you all then great but they are a serious hinderance to me.
