Elle à table (French edition) please - this is an excellent magazine, but not sure if you are considering non-language titles. A shame as I have a wealth of back-issues and I am always wishing there was an index!

I know what you mean.  I am considering using the add your own recipe feature of EYB to start indexing my Japanese language cookbooks.  I think  it might work.  For example, I can type of recipe name and use the source for name of the book.  I currently have as many Japanese language books as English and it's always been a problem for me to locate the Japanese recipes.

We aren't planning on doing any non-English magazines at this time.  But it's very easy for you to index them yourself - much quicker than cookbooks.  Because the data cannot be imported from Amazon (magazines don't have unique ISBN numbers like books) we have to add the magazines for you.  Email us at info@eatyourbooks.com if you are interested.

There are several magazines currently being indexed by members - The Simple Things, Food and Travel, Where Women Cook and Heirloom Gardener.

I'd love to see 'New Zealand Healthy Food Guide' please!

And also 'Food', another NZ food magazine put out every couple of months by a supermarket chain - it's great!

Is there a way to index a few of my old favorite Cooking Lights?  The particular ones I'm wishing was indexed is a Make-Ahead and an Anniversary issued from the 1990's  Or could we just do one or two faves like this ourselves?

(Says the gal who has not returned to finish indexing her last request ;

If any member wants to index an issue of a magazine, contact us at info@eatyourbooks and we will add it to the Library.  You can then request to index it.

I'd like to add the Fall issue of The Best of Fine Cooking's "Cooking Fresh" magazine to the EYB library.  Sincer prior editions appear as books vs magazines I tried to enter the 10 digit number beneath the bar code on the front of the magazine as an ISBN but I get a msg saying the # is invalid.  It would be great to have this added to the EYB library.

GatorUA - this topic is for requesting magazines.  Please add your request to the topic Blog Requests. Thanks!

Sorry, it's my first venture into the forums.  I'll go look for the blog request area.  Thank you!

Just a gentle bump of this thread as I don't want my question above regarding "The Best of Fine Cooking" to get missed.

TIA

Apologies Breadcrumbs for not responding.  Were you wanting to index this magazine?  The 5 issues we have added so far were at the request of a member who wanted to index them.  Because magazines do not have unique ISBN numbers (that number you added from the barcode isn't an ISBN) we have to add all the data manually for every magazine.  So we only add them if we know they are going to be indexed.

I live in Australia and would love to have Australia's No. 1 cooking magazine "Super Food Ideas" indexed as they have the most delicious recipes.

I'm with afowler.  I have issues of Super Food Ideas all the way back to Issue 3.  I was also wondering if Feast Magazine is still being added to the library as I haven't noticed the October 2014 in the listings.

Thanks Jane.  Unfortunately I have no spare time at all these days so indexing is not in my future.  That said, as I've mentioned before, I'd be happy to pay to have some of my books indexed if EYB were ever to offer such a service.

Breadcrumbs,

I indexed the few "The best of fine cooking" magazines, while indexing I realized that there were quite a few overlaps of recipes in these magazines and was somewhat disenchanted. I stopped buying the magazine for a while. But I got the "cooking fresh" that you're interested in and now that summer is over, I'll have more time so I'll try to index it.

Jane,

I'll send you a photo of the magazine cover so your staff can set it up for me to start indexing.

There were actually 6 of these magazines that I indexed, one of them was listed under "Fine cooking magazine special issue:one-pot meals". May be you can change it to "The best of fine cooking: one-pot meals", so that it could be grouped with the others.

chawkins - title corrected and new title added for you to index.  I hadn't come across that new CookFresh series from Fine Cooking.  Do you recommend it?  According to the Taunton website they have done 11 issues so far, available as a magazine or PDF download.

I have a couple of the Cook Fresh magazines and so does my sister. We both like them but they do contain recipes that have been in the Fine Cooking magazines before. Also, I think many if not all of the recipes are on their web site.

Jane,

Thanks for setting it up. Looks like they have 4 issues of "Cook Fresh" a year, one for each season. This is the first one I bought so I don't know much about it. They also have this as a cook book and I don't know if that is a compilation of the magazine or not. Most likely not, as they have a package on sale that is made up of 2 books and 2 magazines.

I really love the Fine Cooking special issues and have quite a few including a couple CookFresh ones. I had a Fine Cooking subscription for about two years though and found that if I flipped through the the CookFresh issues on the newsstand around the time (and shortly after) I had the subscription, I was seeing a lot of recipes that had already appeared in the regular issues, so I stopped buying them. I really love the seasonal approach, but probably a better product for people who are not already regular subscribers. Now that my subscription has lapsed (for quite a while!) I may start getting them again as long as a quick peruse confirms I am not seeing too many repeats.
