      This is an all-day project. I started it at slightly before 8 o'clock this morning. It is currently 1:11 in the afternoon, and the custard layer is firming up in the fridge- I still have decorating to go. Not a particularly thick custard layer; if I make this again I might use one of my other two stand-by custard recipes that gets a little thicker.

      Rich and good, but the layers aren't as firm as the restaurant version.

      I have never tried the restaurant version. We think it would have been better without the balsamic glaze. Leftover quesadilla filling made good lunch.
