Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Raspberry Bakewell roulade

    • adewar on December 22, 2015

Looks impressive but is overly sweet - I would consider replacing the jam with a mixture of jam and fresh raspberries. The guidance on the roulade sponge is very detailed and helpful.

  • Gingercake trifle

    • adewar on December 23, 2015

Thoroughly unpleasant. The cake does not soak up the juices of the fruit and alcohol and there is too much of the marscapone/custard/cream.

  • Best-ever spaghetti Bolognese

    • wodtke on January 07, 2017

This recipe includes an addendum on how to make it in a slow cooker. I made it in my new Instant Pot Came out exceptionally well, very delicious. It makes a HUGE quantity however; might want to consider halving it if serving four or fewer.

  • Three-ingredient banana pancakes

    • adewar on December 02, 2015

Thoroughly nasty! The pancakes did not set before they started to turn over-browned. Not one decent pancake from the batch of batter.
