A lovely book - the kind of reference tome that you can either curl up with or consult as needed. The author has an evocative writing style and it's full of ideas and tips about how to match food and wine, while not being overly prescriptive. She often encourages readers to follow their own preferences rather than sticking rigidly to established trends. The only downside is that some of the wines mentioned can be a bit difficult to find (e.g. in major supermarkets) but she often cites alternatives, and the extra resources about grapes etc are useful in sourcing similar wines too. There are a few recipes scattered throughout the book but often she'll just mention dishes in a general way or direct the reader to other authors' recipes. Overall a wonderful book - inspiring and aspirational in an accessible way.
