Hallowe'en pumpkin stew (pg 125) think a version of beef bourguignon with onions, carrots, and mushrroms with the final cooking being inside a pumpkin. A very decent stew in a great presentation.

The Davison farm in Vernon, BC was started in 1933 and operated as an apple orchard for decades. The farm has been run by the same family for three generations. A pioneer farm, the current generation are also pioneers in agri-tourism and have transformed this working farm into one of the Okanagan’s premiere public farm markets. These recipes focus on the bounty of fruits and vegetables grown in the Okanagan Valley. Luscious summer fruits such as apricots, peaches, raspberries and rhubarb and the gamut of fresh, local summer through fall vegetables such as corn, tomatoes, caulifl ower, beans, spinach, peppers, cukes, carrots, beets, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, zucchini and more are the ingredients that form the core of this book. Inside are easy-to-make recipes for cakes, tortes, pies, fruit crisps and loafs, muffi ns, strudel, pudding, squares & bars, as well as salads, soup, pickles, relish, chutneys, conserves and preserves. The book is a cornucopia of delicious recipes that will be an essential addition to the library of anyone who loves to cook with fresh fruits and vegetables.
