Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Thandai masala

    • EmilyR on January 11, 2022

The smell of this is intoxicatingly wonderful. I find myself sprinkling this onto whipped cream and frosting to add some extra flavor and interest. It's super versatile and unique.

  • Breakfast naan pizza

    • EmilyR on February 01, 2022

I used store bought naan, but otherwise kept the recipe the same. It's a quick and easy, yet filling little pizza. A food processor definitely helps with all of the thin cutting.

  • Strawberry and rose petal granola

    • EmilyR on February 01, 2022

This is a nice granola with layers of flavor. I would have liked the rose to come through even more.

  • Almond cinnamon waffles with summer berries

    • EmilyR on February 01, 2022

I forgot to add the chocolate chips, but frankly these are so flavorful without them that they weren't even missed. I added the Thandai masala sprinkled over the whipped cream and that was a great choice. Also, I have cinnamon infused maple syrup, which help bring out that flavor. Great flavors all around and rave reviews from the entire family.

  • Chai masala, macadamia nut, and white chocolate banana bread with passion fruit and vanilla bean butter

    • EmilyR on February 01, 2022

I did my cake a little backwards with turbinado sugar sprinkled in the bottom of the pan, since I was using the Nordicware snowflake pan. It gives it a crisper crust and releases relatively easily. The curd definitely helps as I thought this was a touch too sweet. There's a hint of a salty, which I liked and I think it's from the macadamia nuts that were lightly salted. I like the passion fruit curd from Cook Real Hawai'i more... it's less sweet and a larger quantity.

  • Vegetable koftas in tomato cashew curry

    • hlauer on May 19, 2026

Recipe says it serves 8-10. I feel this was pretty generous and more like 4 with a little leftovers. Great flavor

  • Thandai shortbread cookies dipped in white chocolate with pistachios and rose petals

    • EmilyR on January 11, 2022

I read other reviews for these cookies and they mentioned a couple of Tbsp heavy cream to help everything bind together more. Also, it didn't specify, but I used Ceylon cinnamon. Virtually everytime my husband grabs one he says, “These are so good.” …and they are!

  • Ginger masala chai (Aadhu masala chai)

    • EmilyR on February 01, 2022

This is a bit referential as it's needed in the banana bread recipe. It smells wonderfully and is a great way to rotate spices that might not be as heavily used... also simple zipping through the vitamix dry container.
