Thai Green Curry Rice: This was fine but no more than the sum of its parts. I would prefer extra veg and a punchier Thai flavour. There's a similar Dominique Woolf recipe (Thai green curry chicken and rice traybake) that I prefer, so will likely choose that one in future. I understand the benefits of using easy-cook rice, but it's a bit annoying not being able to reheat any leftovers.

Breakfast cookies: These were fine but not as indulgent tasting as I would've liked - they definitely feel like a healthy option and I would have preferred them a little sweeter. That said, she recommends serving with fruit and yogurt which would probably be a lovely match. I just ate them on their own as a snack. I subbed the peanut butter for tahini (as suggested in the recipe). They are pleasant enough but there are other healthy cookie / sweet baked breakfast recipes I prefer, so I'm unlikely to repeat these.

Publishers Text

‘My cooking style doesn't neatly fit into any one category – it’s not low carb, not entirely plant-based, and certainly not fixated on calorie or macro counts. So, when asked, I often quip, "well, it's healthy… ish."'

Based on sound nutrition, Emma embraces a joyful cooking style centred around six pillars that guarantee a HEALTHY-ISH way of eating:

HIGH PROTEIN / PLANT-FORWARD / REFINED SUGAR-FREE / UPF-FREE / CONVENIENCE FOCUSED / NOURISHING FOR MIND & BODY

So many of us want to embrace a healthier approach to eating, but maintaining a sense of balance any particular diet often results in a sense of failure – whether through a feeling of over-restriction, or everyday life getting in the way.

Hence the -ISH part. It's a positive approach that understands the challenges people face in cooking from scratch. You'll find everything from high-protein batch breakfasts, preppable lunches, plant-forward feasts that taste unreal, under 30 minute dinners, and indulgent treats that hit the sweet spot.

Promising all the goodness with none of the fuss, this is healthy eating with a little wiggle room – perfect for real life.
