Publishers Text

Tying in with the second TV series of the cookery show, "Simply the Best" is a celebration of British food - its history and origins - and contains over 100 often neglected, traditional recipes. It includes anecdotes and insights into, for example, why luncheon was invented and how the English strawberry was born out of the French Revolution. There are chapters on the kitchen garden, herbs and seafood, and it draws on the expertise of some of Britain's top chefs. "Great British Chefs", Kit Chapman's first book, was shortlisted for the Andre Simon Award.
