Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Creamy garlic dressing two ways: rich and slim

    • kari500 on June 12, 2016

This is a really good, easy dressing. Likely to have all ingredients around. Made the rich way and loved it; will try the slim way too.

  • Broccoli or broccoli raab pesto

    • hbakke on March 25, 2021

Page 18. This has a prominent broccoli flavor and makes a very dry, paste-like pesto. I would recommend adding more oil.

  • Sara's hard-cooked eggs

    • nutrica6 on October 23, 2023

cover the pot with a lid while waiting for it to come to a boil

  • Turkish poached eggs with yogurt and sage oil

    • cellenly on April 21, 2020

All the people in the family who liked tzatziki loved it, and those who didn't hated it. The yogurt/garlic sauce had that tzatziki feel to it. Didn't have sage so substituted basil and mint, and it was good.

  • Chorizo-stuffed mushrooms

    • nutrica6 on October 23, 2023

everyone liked these, definitely easier if you can find big mushrooms to get more filling in them. I had extra filling

  • Guacamole eggs

    • nutrica6 on October 23, 2023

These needed a lot more salt. Would be interesting to whip the filling a little more, as I found it to be somewhat dense.

  • A summer salad from Paris

    • nutrica6 on October 23, 2023

I felt this needed a little more flavor, possibly from balsamic vinegar.

  • Smoky fish chowder

    • TrishaCP on September 25, 2022

This was very tasty, but so, so, rich. Maybe because I used smoked salmon, since that was what I had on hand. I also think you can halve the bacon to no ill effect.

  • Asian chicken salad with carrot ginger sauce

    • Toppermom on September 13, 2012

pg 122. I made this last night. Really enjoyed the flavors. My husband said he didn't expect to like it but really enjoyed it. An easy and light dinner for a busy week night. The dressing is really good.

  • Smoky cheese grits with summer succotash

    • acfrey on September 03, 2011

Easy flavorful way to use summer vegetables. Great vegetarian option for main dish.

  • Turkey meatballs with broccoli pesto and orzo

    • hbakke on March 25, 2021

Page 185. This was alright. It may have been the prosciutto I used, but the meatballs were very salty. I did like the idea of the meatballs and the texture was great, but if I made this again I would decrease the salt in the meatballs and use a traditional pesto. The broccoli pesto was a bit too sulfur smelling to me. Just kind of weird.

  • Buffalo rice

    • Kfaber on October 17, 2013

Very tasty! Might go a tiny bit lighter on the blue cheese next time

  • Pumpkin coconut bars

    • nutrica6 on October 23, 2023

These are so good! The gingersnap crust is amazing. I will try to use the recipe to make a pie for Thanksgiving.
