    Crullers (pg 59) are described as for Scandinavian May Day but appropriated here for Ascension Day. What really matters is an excuse to make crullers. I abhor ruining them with icing so I skipped that. The flavoring with vanilla and lemon was a bit stronger than what I am used to but it worked well. Recommended.
