Sweet corn, green cabbage, and bacon from Sunday Suppers at Lucques: Seasonal Recipes from Market to Table (page 139) by Suzanne Goin and Teri Gelber

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

Cabbage is not a favorite in our house, but around St. Patrick's day it's hard to pass up the inevitable, great sale prices. I bought one yesterday for 25 cents a pound! We've made this recipe before and loved it, so I made it again last night. We really enjoyed it with a delicious piece of striped bass grilled with lemon and olive oil. It's fast and easy (especially for a Suzanne Goin recipe). I used frozen baby corn and followed the recipe pretty closely.

The bacon fat really packs a flavor punch and it’s a great use for half a green cabbage. Pretty simple and impactful summer side dish.

    Quick and good.
