Can substitute walnuts or almonds for pecans. See recipe for variations.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Make sure the plantains are very ripe (mine weren’t quite ripe enough). Even so, this was good and very easy. Omitted nuts since one of the guests had a nut allergy. Will make again for an easy Mexican dessert. Added leftovers to vanilla ice cream the next day and it was like a Mexican bananas foster-it was great and much easier than making bananas foster!
