Patatas bravas from River Cottage Veg: 200 Inspired Vegetable Recipes (page 322) by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I turn to this book each year when my allotment garden is in full production. I made this with potatoes, tomatoes, herbs, garlic, onions, and peppers all from the garden. It’s hard to go wrong with fried potatoes in a spicy tomato sauce, so this is very delicious! I ended up adding some smoked paprika since my chilli (variety: roulette) turned out to be not that hot.

Spicy tomato sauce with fried potatoes is an excellent - and unusual for me - combination. Rather than serving them tapas style, I served them as a side to Ottolenghi's cauliflower cake with a green salad for a delicious lunch.
