    This was really simple and very good. Made it as written except I cut the simmering time from 60 minutes to 30; I didn’t want it to lose its vibrancy. The actual polenta is the weakest link or maybe I didn’t appreciate the slight viscosity it added to the final product. The kale garnish is what makes the dish sing, and yeah, it takes the soup out of a one-dish dinner category, but don’t skip it and don’t skimp on the red pepper flakes. Also, I was surprised at what a difference it made to chop the rosemary just before adding to the soup bowls when just serving. There’s a lesson here.
