Mice from The Washington Post by Anna Ginsberg

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I made these cookies for my daughter's annual Christmas party the year the recipe was published in the Washington Post. In all humility I assure you that my mice were as cute as those in the photo plus very delicious. Did I mention EASY. If you have a degree in Play Doh, you can make these mice. They would be a good project to do with children. All the ingredients are probably at your local grocery. I did have a little trouble finding the sliced natural almonds but now I see them everywhere. You need the brown skin of the almond outlining the cute little mouse ears. Also mini chocolate chips for the eyes are a must. I had never bought chow mein noodles before but they have wonderful twists for mice tails. My daughter had some of the mice lurking all over her dessert table. Very cute.
