Requires an ice cream maker. Chill 4 hours to overnight. Freeze at least 4 hours.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This was such an easy ice cream. Just heat the sugar, honey and some of the cream. then add the rest of the cream and the buttermilk. I didn't chill for 4 hours - did the Jeni Britton Bauer genius hack of pouring ice cream in a plastic bag and submerging in bowl of iced water for 45 mins. The ice cream wasn't as silky smooth as a custard-based one but it was so quick and easy. And the ice cream was very scoopable, even after hours in the freezer. Great ice cream to have with pies.
