Can substitute conchiglie or fusilli pasta for gramigna pasta.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

In order to avoid prepping another side veggie I added about 2 cup of sliced leek when I added the onion. Cook the leek with the onion till slightly browning as the recipe suggested. Floor the rest of the recipe as written. At the end the leeks had cooked down so much it’s barely noticeable but the sweetness lingers in the dish, it turned out adding really nice touch to it. (And seemed healthier) Will make again.

Delicious, reminds me of a dish a friend of mine used to make.

The recipe as it's written results in a total of a mere 2/3 cup of sauce for 16 oz of pasta. The very small amount of sauce distributed over the pasta resulted in all its flavor being diluted and lost. We all agreed it tasted and looked like buttered noodles. Extremely bland. I followed the recipe from the 30th-anniversary edition, so maybe this was an error in this revised version. Needs at least double the amount of sauce for a pound of pasta.

Calls for sweet sausage, not Italian.

Delicious and very easy but oh so rich. Ok to have once in a while. Short pasta works better than long noodles. Used ½ teaspoon of black pepper and ½ teaspoon salt. Might be nice with a touch of hot pepper, and maybe also a touch of acid (squeeze of lemon?).

This is probably the unhealthiest pasta sauce I know, BUT really delicious! Kids loved it, and on top very quick to make. Perfect for those leftover sausages in the fridge.
