Beef meatball and Guinness stew from Waitrose Kitchen Magazine, October 2014 (page 52) by Jasmine Hemsley and Melissa Hemsley

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Can substitute vegetable stock for beef bone broth.

Used the venison meatball recipe from Venison Meatball & Wild Mushroom Stroganoff. Left out the parsnips; used Heineken instead of Guinness (it's what I had); added a tablespoon of maple syrup. Made the dumplings with bisquick and parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Next time, omit the dumplings and add potatoes. This was an unexpectedly huge hit -- Gary loved it.

This one didn't quite work for us. It smelled lovely, but the Guinness left a weird aftertaste when eating it. And, thinking about it, meatballs don't really lend themselves to a stew recipe - shouldn't a stew be for a cheap cut of meat that will be tenderised by long and slow cooking? Not sure if we'll even give this another try.
