Nectarine custard tarts from All Things Sweet: 100 Deliciously Sweet Recipes for Every Occasion by Rachel Allen

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Can substitute regular cream for double cream, and vanilla extract for vanilla pods. See recipe for variations.

Delicious and quick to make! Thought for a moment that the recipe for the custard would not work when mixing sugar, egg yolks and flour together. The mixture resembled more a crumble, but after mixing for some time it had the ususal thick and pale consistency. As always the custard took much longer than the stated 2 minutes to thicken properly, but this is probably due to my using an induction burner.
