    I was skeptical when I read Jamie Oliver’s recommendation to serve fish with ketchup and peas in this recipe but wanted to try real foods eaten by Brits. Wish I had flakier fish like haddock or cod but didn’t and used Pacific sea bass which turned out ok but flakier fish would be better here. Instead of serving peas with pie, I added them into the filling and also added cooked bacon bits to the mashed potato topping. Instead of onions, I used caramelized onion I took out from freezer. These turned out to be be good additions and I would increase the quantity next time. And ketchup with this fish pie does go really well because it is mild in taste. My husband really liked this fish pie. If short on time, frozen bag of mixed veggies would work here. For the ketchup part, I may try making sauce of ketchup, lemon juice and horseradish next time to serve with this.
