Vort limpa from The King Arthur Flour 200th Anniversary Cookbook (page 146) by King Arthur Flour and Brinna B. Sands

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I bought a second hand copy of this nearly 40 year old cookbook for this recipe. It is a swedish bread which I gather is popular at Christmas but I have made it in our Autumn which I think suits heavy, spicy breads. I added in the raisins for a bit of sweetness. It smells amazing with all the spices used. I used Guinness for the beer because that's what I like for dark beer. I would definitely make this again, its a really interesting dark, spicy loaf. I might cut back slightly on the molasses next time.
