Can substitute light cream for half and half cream, dark brown sugar for light brown sugar, store-bought pumpkin ice cream for the book's "Pumpkin ice cream with hazelnuts and chocolate", store-bought caramel or vanilla ice cream for the book's "Brown sugar ice cream", and jarred butterscotch sauce for the book's "Best butterscotch sauce" used here.
